The Korean electrical engineering company is looking for tech-transferring partners who are specialized in elements extraction and processing technology (separating and recycling expensive Li, Co and Cu from non-reusable Li Battery). Type of co-operation: commercial agreement with technical assistance, or joint venture.
The Korean electrical engineering company has been doing business with renowned companies over 20 years. It is one of the key suppliers of rechargeable Li-ion battery manufacturing equipment to the world. It provides integrated solutions for battery application such as electronic vehicles and e-mobility based on power conversion and production know-how, and post-production.
Considering the social, economic, environmental aspects and the needs of the diversified energy industry, the company is now looking for partners who are specialized in Li Battery Recycling technology which is able to extract expensive elements like Co, Cu and etc. for recycling use from non-reusable batteries.
The Korean company is planning on using the technology to develop a Li-battery recycling system that would help battery manufacturing industry. The technology is supposed to help recycle resources in an efficiency and effective way so that there will be little need to purchase expensive core elements, and help the company build eco-friendly battery business modes.
The required technology should be as below :
Be able to recycle those non-reusable battery and battery scraps from eco-friendly electric vehicles, program by-product or defective product. It should be able to extract Li, Co, Cu and etc. in a large quantity for Li Battery reproduction, meanwhile in a safe (fire-free and explosive-free), effective and low-cost manner.
Discharging pre-process is required for fire-free and explosive-free battery extraction and decomposition process. (Regarding Lithium’s inherent instability - highly reactive and flammable). Elements extraction process and high purification process (hydrometallurgical process). The recycling process should include chemical precipitation and extraction methods. The company hopes to find a technical transferring partner who is an expert of elements extraction and processing technology.
Two partnership types can be considered:
Commercial agreement with technical assistance : the Korean company is looking to purchase elements-extraction technology for its Li-battery-recycling system. The counterpart company is supposed to offer elements extraction and processing technology and help the Korean company to develop its Li-battery recycling system.
Joint venture agreement : the Korean company is looking to join a partner who has a technical project specifically related to elements extraction and processing technology (extracting Li, Cu, Co and etc from Li battery).
